The Brain Injury Association of Tasmania (BIAT) invite you to attend Brain Injury Peer Support Groups in Hobart, Launceston and Ulverstone.
The groups are for people with brain injury, their family and carers to come together to share, learn and connect with others.
People living with brain injury, including families, friends and carers, often say that peer support was very helpful to them on their journey towards recovery. People who have 'been there' have knowledge and expertise based on their own lived experience. Sharing this knowledge can help others to understand their own experience and move forward.
The groups are open to anyone that has been impacted by an acquired brain injury, including those caused by: stroke, falls, assault, concussion, road crash, infection, brain tumour, hypoxia (lack of oxygen to the brain), poisoning, and degenerative neurological conditions such as MS etc.

Guest Speaker: Mark Lamont - Retired Clinical Neuropsychologist, has over 25 years’ experience in working with people impacted by brain injury.
Mark has offered to come along and share with the group his insights into supporting people to move forward and also how neuroplasticity can support people in their recovery.

In line with Federal and State government requests to minimise the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the Brain Injury Association of Tasmania has postponed future scheduled events, such as Peer Support Group meetings - this includes the Ulverstone group on the 17 March.
