About the Peer Support Program

The Brain Injury Association of Tasmania have a Brain Injury Peer Support Program for people impacted by brain injury, their families and carers.

Our aim is to support people to come together to share, learn and connect with others and help them to move forward to have a good life.

The BIAT Peer Support Program includes:  

  • Face-to-face Peer Support groups in Hobart, Launceston and Ulverstone
  • Online state-wide Peer Support groups via Zoom
  • Closed Facebook Peer Support groups

BIAT have recently developed the publication "The Value Of Shared Experiences - A Brain Injury Peer Support Guide" that provides new and existing brain injury peer support members with information to help them learn more about peer support programs as well as a step by step guide to setting up and running meetings and leading topics for discussion.
