This conference, hosted by Brain Injury Australia, is a leading event for those involved in brain injury care, research, and advocacy.
BIAT Executive Officer Marie-Clare shared her enthusiasm about the upcoming event:
"This is a great opportunity for our team to engage with the latest research and innovative practices in relation to brain injury."
"However the conference is not just a learning experience for our staff but a way to connect with other professionals and people with lived experience. Importantly, we see the conference as an opportunity to bring back knowledge and ideas that will benefit the Tasmanian community."
"We’re particularly eager to explore new ways to support the brain injury community, and strengthen our ability to advocate for better services and awareness in our region. We also have an opportunity to showcase some of BIAT'S innovative programs, such as the National Assistance Card and the Employ Me Project."
BIAT plays an important role in supporting individuals with ABI and their families across Tasmania. The organisation focuses on increasing community awareness, providing resources, and influencing policy to improve services and outcomes for those impacted by brain injury.
During the week of the conference, the BIAT office will be closed as the team participates in workshops and discussions on topics presented, such as innovations in rehabilitation, concussion management, and peer support. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to sharing what we learn upon our return.
